Resumen
Esta publicación ofrece un análisis desde la noción de paratraducción tanto del texto (las unidades verbales) como de la imagen (los peritextos icónicos) de la publicación multilingüe titulada Pictogramas para facilitar a comunicación coas mulleres embarazadas inmigrantes y editada en PDF por la Dirección de Asistencia Sanitaria del Servicio Gallego de Salud de la Xunta de Galicia. El objetivo esencial del análisis crítico ofrecido es demostrar la necesidad imperiosa de paratraducir bien la imagen en cada cultura para traducir mejor el texto en cada lengua cuando son usadas las parejas texto-imagen en la narrativa gráfica concebida como una especie de comunicación multimodal que se lleva a cabo entre, por un lado, quien provee el servicio de salud (matrona/médico) y, por otro, quien lo recibe (mujer embarazada migrante alófona).

Abstract
Pictogramas para facilitar a comunicación coas mulleres embarazadas inmigrantes (“Pictograms to improve communication with immigrant pregnant women”) is the title in Galician of a multilingual publication edited as a PDF by the Healthcare Assistance Directorate of the Galician Health Service of the Xunta de Galicia (Galicia’s regional government). After having analyzed from the notion of paratranslation the text (verbal units) and the images (iconic peritexts) of the abovementioned multilingual publication, the main objective of this paper is to demonstrate the urgent need for an accurate paratranslation of images in every culture. This will enable a better translation of the text in each language when the text-image pair is used in graphic narrative, conceived as some sort of multimodal communication that takes place between who, on the one hand, provides the service (doctor or midwife), and, on the other hand, who profits from it (migrant allophone pregnant woman).
